Youth Inclusive Climate Finance Report
The Youth Climate Finance Insights Report was prepared to provide insight into the importance for climate-designated grants and financial instruments to better consider youth in their deployment.
Youth consistently generate innovative climate solutions, but are consistently under-valued for their time and effort – leading to a lack of prosperous young climate-oriented entrepreneurs and youth-focused climate ventures. Entrepreneurs in the Global Majority face the largest barriers-to-entry and deserve explicit support from countries such as Canada. This report highlights the need for Canada to demonstrate leadership on building explicit strategies for global youth climate finance from 2020, onwards.
Youth Climate Lab is grateful for the inputs by all participants as well as the ad-hoc inputs provided by stakeholders from CARE Canada, the World Bank, the Green Climate Fund and Climate Action Canada, among others. While the opinions and recommendations included in this report were refined by conversations with these organizations, the report’s contents are representative of Youth Climate Lab’s views alone.
